I am working through the Udemy course, and one of the assignments is this hymn. I typed the lyrics for all four verses of the first phrase (as in the demo), then came back to add the rest of the lyrics after all notes were entered. Verse numbers appeared where I restarted each verse (end of bar 2).
Hoping someone can tell me how to delete these/prevent it from happening again.
Thank you – you are quite right. I was experimenting, trying to find the optimum efficiency for entering the two voices (without a midi keyboard), and have a very colourful hybrid.
If this were a Finale problem, I would switch layers, but I don’t know if there is a similar solution here, or some other way.
In order to enter the 2nd voice on the same stem, I was using Q. which worked fine, but the best practice with that seems to be to enter the lower note first, as the added note will default to the higher pitch. So working from the alto up seemed to make sense, except of course the places where two different voices are actually needed.
I guess the moral of the story is, don’t switch horses in the middle of the stream – but in the meantime, is there an easy fix, or do I need to go back and re-enter things?
EDIT to add: Since it’s just an assignment, I will treat it as a learning experience. But if you have any advice for future best practices, I’d appreciate it!
