Version 5.0.10.2029 - No Groove Agent (full version) and No other VST Instruments

Using Version 5.0.10.2029, I do not see Groove Agent (not Groove Agent SE) and my other Steinberg VST instruments. What can I do to see the VST instruments installed (at least Steinberg’s).

Thank you for the tip on Playback preferences and have HALion Sonic loaded now (not HALion). And I the playback template to run HSSE+HSO+GASE (Pro).

Can you please send a diagnostics report? From the menu choose Help > Create Diagnostics Report

Good morning Ulf, please find the report attached.

Cheers,

Bob

Good morning Bob,
Dorico finds a lot of VST3 plug-ins with you, also Groove Agent SE. From the log file:

2023-06-01 07:06:14 : Categ. : Component Controller Class
2023-06-01 07:06:14 : Name : Groove Agent SE Controller
2023-06-01 07:06:14 : Vendor : Steinberg Media Technologies
2023-06-01 07:06:14 : SubCat.: Instrument|Drum
2023-06-01 07:06:14 : Vers. : 5.1.20
2023-06-01 07:06:14 : SDK : VST 3.7.3

At the same time, there are a lot of plug-ins that are on the blacklist, mainly because they don’t support ARM64 architecture.

I have not checked all Steinberg plug-ins, but it looks like they have been installed.
Can you make a screenshot of how the audio-effect dropdown list in Dorico looks like with you.?
Thanks

Hi, Ulf.
Are you aware that the OP is talking about Groove Agent and not Groove Agent SE?

Hi Estigy, thanks, you are right. I will check again…

But also Groove Agent gets recognized by Dorico, it picks it up from /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Steinberg/Groove Agent.vst3

Thank you for your help. Here is what Dorico sees as VST instruments.

Thanks again,

Ah, okay, you look at the wrong place. Left top of the Play mode window it says Track Inspector and next to that it says VST and MIDI. That tab you have to select. That’s where you instantiate new instruments.

Thank you very much Ulf. Do not know how I missed that as it is obvious.

I guess I have been so used to seeing HALion Sonic and Groove Agent there by default, it was only when I saw HALion 7 being launched triggered my question.

You guys are doing a great job, Bob

You are more than welcome.
And thank you for your compliment.
