What is this Grey Bar? What does it do? How do I move it?
It obviously does something : maybe it is great Dorico goodie I’m missing out on!
“Play | Clear Cycle Locators” does not clear it.

Those are indeed the cycle locators, start and end, on top of each other. You can hide them by unchecking a checkbox in the small menu under the 
icon in the upper region of the window.
