Hi @jk3horn, first of all, in Engrave mode, go in menu Engrave>Staff Spacing>Reset Layout, to eliminate all the red staff spacings overrides (you moved those staves manually, but [fortunately] Dorico doesn’t work like other software and will not move subsequent systems to the previous page):
Then you could (I show 2 possibilities):
1) reduce the Inter-system (minimum) gap in Layout Options>Vertical Spacing -make sure the desired layout is selected in the right side of the dialogue, before you make the change (here I used a value of 6 spaces). You will then have 11 systems in the frame:
2) Alternatively you can set a bigger Inter-system gap value (like 8 spaces):
And reduce the Note spacing (I used 3 1/8), so you have 9 systems in the frame, but with more bars per system:
All that said: you have now only notes in your project. If you will add dynamics, and other items, possibly you will need to correct the global values to adjust for the new material and will need to make global decisions again, and probably one page at the current space size will not be enough (Dorico will automatically let the music flow in a second page/music frame).
So the suggestion to deal with layout only when all your music input is done is always valid ![]()
Thanks Christian, I have followed your advice. Each part is just the way I want it.
