I have vertical spacing puzzle I can’t crack. I’m guessing it is located somewhere in Layout Options but, after tweaking bunch of numbers (mostly in the ‘minimum gaps’ section), I don’t get the needed results.
In one image, there is wide spacing between the two parts. In the other image, I added 8 bars which caused to spacing to revert to the desired appearance.
I’ve had that happen sporadically and have yet to figure out what exactly causes it. I tend to get frustrated after perusing the usual setting suspects and cannot find the cause. Then, like an angry idiot, I start changing too many things to figure out what actually works.* Perhaps others have more insight.
OK, here are two pages. I deleted a bunch of flows and dorico saw fit to throw in a bunch of blank pages. Currently not a concern so you can disregard that.
That library manager is quite interesting. If I understand correctly, it gives choices as opposed to a blanket reset to factory settings. It solved my problem (thank you!) but I still wonder what setting got it off in the first place. Oh well, I can move on with my project — which is finishing this book and not gaining complete Dorico mastery.
Here’s a slightly longer primer on vertical spacing. It doesn’t fit on a single page PDF the way @benwiggy’s original does, but you can bookmark it here on the forum.
