For those on Mac, steermouse is an amazing mouse customizer, you can change the behavior globally as well as per program. You can assign to keyboard shortcuts as well as anything you can think of.

Initially I bought it because the accelerated scroll on MAC is awful with the Corsair mouse I use & it enables you to make it linear, but since then it’s become a big part of my computer life in dozens of ways.
