Video bug or what?

Hi there I have a weird issue already since long time;

as you can see in the short video attached, when my window is in full screen, the arrow is not able to select the correct item under it. It happens horizontally not vertically; It’s like it has a “deley” on the page. This disappear when i reduce the size of the window. It happens randomly but when it happens force me to quit averytime the full size window or even worst close the project and open it again to use the side panel and side buttons

. That’s of course a waste of time. Any idea? Thanks!

It is not 100% clear, what you mean by this.
What are you trying to select?
The trash icon is only activated, once you have selected either a layout or a flow, so an item you want to delete.
But you might be talking about something else.
In specific, what do you mean by “deley”? Is this a misspelling? Qual è il termine italiano per indicarlo?

So, by arrow, do you mean mouse cursor? If so, I would first ask you to give details about your computer operating system, type of pointing device being used (wired mouse, wireless mouse, wired trackpad, wireless trackpad, etc.). I use an external wireless trackpad. When I was first getting acquainted with it, sometimes I did not have the “top” oriented properly and I ended up with cursor movements everywhere but where they should be. For example, when I moved my finger “up” on the trackpad, the cursor was moving at an angle sideways. Not stating this is your case but I think more details about your computer system would help us help you.

“arrow” stands for “mouse cursor” - currently i’m running macos 15.7.4

as you can see in the video, when i move the mouse cursor on the right, it doesn’t activate the right item. In this case the mouse cursor is on the trash button but it activates a different one (add a layout….).

yes, you are right; currently i’m running a macos 15.7.4 on a macbook pro and both the logic mx anywhere 2 mouse and the laptop’s trackpad does the same job (and the same bug)

I understand. My desktop Mac mini runs macOS 15.7.5 and I don’t have your issue with the mouse cursor and the actual active point being out of sync. First you could try updating from 15.7.4 to the 15.7.5 - in case that makes a difference.
Do you see this with any other application if you hover in that screen area? Can you actually grab the bottom right corner of the Dorico full screen window and resize it?

Any update system didn’t effect on this “bug” (it stays there at any upgrade) and not any other app have this issue; any panel or button on the far right is not clickable in full size window…..
It doesn’t happen always but randomly

I am a normal Dorico user and the following assumptions are just my personal guesswork…

I understand that Dorico uses a QT framework to allow it to run cross-platform on Windows, macOS and iPadOS. That could possibly produce this bug, but it could also be a hardware/graphic problem with your specific Macbook Pro.

Is there any way that another part of your hand or something else is barely touching the trackpad? When I first started using my Macbook Pro, I found that I was barely touching the trackpad with the outer palm of my hand at times without realizing it. It caused all kinds of weird things similar to what you describe. Occasionally, some 25 years later, I still catch myself doing this.

definitely is not the case……..

how could i investigate is hardware/graphic problem of my laptop if it appears only in dorico?
