I’d like to play a video file using a MIDI command. It shouldn’t run in sync with VST Live. I’d like to be able to do this either via a MIDI track or manually – both options should be possible. I want to play this video on an external monitor connected to the computer via HDMI. Would anyone be kind enough to explain this to me as simply as possible? basically we do video playback with the video tracks. (Or MediaPlayer, but for another purposes)
So help me understand what is different in your case? A short explanation will help me to help you

OK, I play in a band, but they don’t want to play to the MIDI click. I’ve exported my sheet music, more or less in sync with the song, as a video file. That works well.
However, as the band isn’t playing in sync, the programme changes aren’t automatic; instead, I switch them manually. I’d then like to send a MIDI command with the first part to play this video, whilst VST Live isn’t playing in sync.

Although it’s still not crystal clear what u want to achieve
There is the module called Media Player that can start any video like a “single player” where you can press PLAY / STOP (via mouse or via MIDI control)
Maybe that might work better in this specific case. What do you think?
@kyru If I understand you correctly, you want to start a video manually, independent from the actual song position.
In that case, @fkalmus hint is absolutely right on the spot: The Media Player Module is the tool of your choice. It can be easily automated via its Quick Controls in Actions & Shortcuts.
Do not care about. Load your video and close it. Nothing to do there. I personally have control buttons on my streamdeck to start/stop/rtz video but u can do it with whatever keys and midi controllers
