Video Hangs

I’m having frequent hangs while trying to play video. This shouldn’t be happening given it’s a new, beefy computer. GTX 750, 8 Gigs of 1666 RAM. I have the latest drivers for everything. Additionally I’ve followed Steinbergs advice on formatting the video. They’re all .mov with ProRes codec.

I can scroll and jog lightning quick too. I can see the performance that it’s capable of. This hanging seems like it’s somehow unrelated to the actual task of displaying the frames. No matter what video or codec I use I get the same result. It hangs up for 2 or 3 seconds every 10 seconds or so.

I ran a GPU benchmark test and it passed with flying colors. I’m just not sure where to troubleshoot at this point.

Anyone have a similar problem or can point me in the right direction?

Greatly appreciated!

I highly recommend converting to H264, I personally find Cubase works best with this format.
