I have a project with a video file, AVI, 25fps. In an external videoplayer (VCL) the video plays at the right speed, but within Cubase, in the F8 video-window, the playback is much too fast.
The project-settings are also 25fps (I used Get video framerate from file). The length of the thumbnail-track is the right length (31 minutes).
Any ideas what this could be?

Make sure, you are using supported video format (file format, and codec) in Cuabse, please.
Changing the video format from AVI to MP4 solved the problem, thanks. Strange though, AVI’s should work too.
