Video sync not correct. Picture not playing in sync but Audio is correct

Hi. I work with Video files all the time in my work as a Sound Designer, but I am only dabbling with making scores in Dorico. Dorico is a fantastic application.

I wanted to test out Dorico with a video file while transcribing a person playing the electric bass. I adjusted the tempo of my transcription score to match the actual playing. The audio was perfectly in sync, but the video was not!

So, I am checking to see if anyone can tell me why the movie plays out of sync with its own audio. This is such a fundamental flaw that I must be misunderstanding something here.

(The settings of my movie were correct in Dorico.)

Are Dorico and the video running at the same sample rate?

You are absolutely right.

The sample rate of the QuickTime video was not the same as my playback system! My mistake. Thank you.

In Pro Tools, I never have to check the sample rate of the video since Pro Tools always plays the video at the correct speed. I wasn’t aware that the sample rate of the QuickTime needed to match the playback device set in Dorico, as the audio from the video was 100% correct when played back in Dorico 6.1.
