is there a way in c7 to view how much cpu is being used for individual instruments instead of just the whole cpu/asio meter. i have a few instruments bugging or lagging out in a 80+ channel project and it is very hard to work out which ones i need to bounce/reload etc

CPU has nothing to do with the ASIO Meter.
If your having heavy meter load then there are a few things you need to check one major one is making sure that 7 is not loading the old version of Cubase preference file this has a massive impact on the load. The other thing to check is the SDK version of your plugins if they are 2.3 and under you will have poor performance from them and they will have a big increase on your meter load.
