I have a couple of audio files in the ProgramData folder that i need to edit.
From within WL i can’t find a way to make “hidden” folders visible although i have it set as visible in Windows Explorer.
Am i missing an option somewhere os is this not possible?
I know i can copy the audio files to another location but it would be nice to access everything i see in Windows Explorer right from within WL.
Can open file from Program Data/Hidden Folders when below option is enabled. May be user account related or may work on deleting preferences/reinstall. You can also test drag and drop audio to WL.
Hidden folders are meant to be system files, stuff the user does not interact with. This is the reason why they are not displayed in WaveLab. There is no option to change this.
Yes, i know that and i have my system set like that.
It’s just that i can’t access the files in hidden Folders from within WL.
It’s manageable (i can copy the needed audio files to another accessible Folder) but it’s just that this requires a couple more clicks.
Not too much trouble but it would be nice to have the option.
Not when using WL as Administrator and that’s how i run it.
So, may i suggest an option to manage Files and Folders the same way Windows Explorer does? Selectable view (and use) options from within WL.
Also, the option “Reveal in File Explorer” could, maybe, allow the user to “Open from File Explorer” thus following the View options set in the Operating System.
There is already a partially working system file selector (By partial I meant, previously WL also display file attributes below, on any file or when import to montage).
And I am able to open a hidden file from folder below through WL12
C:\Users\Audio\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 12\Presets\Templates\Wave
As you wrote, it is always better when an audio software follows the Operating System default theme - windows/mac while importing or browsing files from the application.
Could be possible you are facing this because of your default user account.
Yes, that was set like that already.
I had the System File Selector option unchecked due to appearance since WLs File Selector is much better looking than Windows Explorer
