View Track time not bars

Hi.
I am using Cubase Elements 10.
My use case is this: I want to record music freely without having to think about the tempo. For that I want to disabled the “bars” grid in the track editor, and instead present a “time” grid, showing where I am in minutes and seconds, not in bar number.
Is this possible?

Depending on what exactly the „track editor“ is supposed to be - of course - Simply switch the timeline to seconds.
