Virus TI Multi-track MIDI setup Cubase 7 difficulty

Can someone please explain how to set up the Virus TI VST to function as a multi-track midi-controlled VST in Cubase 7, as intended by the manufacturer? I’ve tried following demos/manuals but just can’t seem to get it right.

I’ve never worked with this type of setup so please bear with me I’m a bit of a novice. :unamused:

I have Virus TI 1 desktop and Cubase 7 Elements with Midi Keyboard via USB on my MacBook. So far I just have been using the Virus on one channel.

I think I’ve figured it out. I have to open the Virus VST via “VST Instruments” in the top menu bar and assign 16 MIDI tracks to the VST as opposed to creating a VST track in the timeline. If anyone else has Virus setup issues it’s probably because it wasn’t opened properly from the top menu.
