Hi,
when is a stable version coming which doesn’t crash on start ?
VST Live Version 1.1.41 2023.1.22 10.47.37.490.dmp.zip (138.4 KB)
(It crashes in Nektarine.)
Sorry, I was mistaken, that was another dump. We will check it once more.
Did you see the splashscreen? Did it close? Did you do anything like “New Project”, or does it crash before you can do anything?
Hi,
“… or does it crash before you can do anything?”
YES
Heino
… I have some more question, please:
- before VL will crash, do you see a “Splash-Screen” showing what’s going on? Do you see another screen opening while scanning plug-ins?
- can you please locate the following folder, zip it and share with us?
C:\Users\Your_Username\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\VST Live_64
Thank you,
Michael.
Hi Mr. Spork,
to
" * before VL will crash, do you see a “Splash-Screen” showing what’s going on? Do you see another screen opening while scanning plug-ins?"
NO
VST Live_64.zip (48.4 KB)
Heino
Last message “Initialising application”, then a white screen , then the crash
Scenario:
Setting up a new PC.
First installation VSTLIve.
Next installation Plugin package A
Start VSTLive with scan.
OK
Next installation Plugin package B
Start VSTLive with scan
OK
And so on
After installation Plugin package x and start VSTLive with scan VSTLive crashes.
My Test:
Deinstallation VSTLive .
New installation VSTLive:
Start VSTlive → Crash
Heino
… Thank you. Can you now rename the folder
C:\Users\Your_Username\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\VST Live_64
to something like
C:\Users\Your_Username\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\VST Live_64_old
Now Start VL. Does it work?
Michael.
Scanning starts.
VST3*.xml is written
Then a crash (and a Dump-file is written)
Heino
Question:
Is there a program internal table for the plugins ? - Table overflow ?
I ask while the Waves plugin package are more than 1100 plugins.
Heino
… No overflow. Can you please zip again your VST Live_64 folder and give me that one together with the dump file?
Thank you very much!
Michael.
On Start opens for a short time a message window.
No chance to read.
Heino
Hi,
I’ve checked your “VST Live_64” zip folder. This one still contains three files …
Vst2Folder.xml
Vst2Plugins.xml
Vst3Plugins.xml
and it looks like your vst2 folders are still configured. That should not be if you have renamed your “C:\Users\Your_Username\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\VST Live_64” folder. When this folder is not there, VL starts from the scratch.
Could I please ask you to delete the folder
C:\Users\Your_Username\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\VST Live_64
Then start VL again?
I am sorry for all the trouble
Michael.
