VL often acts as if it’s forgotten my X-touch mini controller between restarts. I’ve set up some transport and other actions and quite often I have to unplug/plugin and/or reset midi, and then remap the actions. This happens even though my controller shows up with the same name between restarts.
A guess is that this may be related to how Windows internally enumerates usb or midi devices. But maybe someone has encountered something similar and has an idea on how to fix it?
Have you tried plugging everything in BEFORE you boot windows? Also make sure you use the same USB socket every time.
Good reminder. I may actually one or two times tried another USB port before restart. Will experiment.
That may be your problem - every time you use a different USB port Windows adds it as a new device. I would have a look in device manager and delete the ones you don’t want. You may have to show hidden devices for all of them to show up.
