Vocal Chain is grey in my Mac insert window, can't open

HI, I’be been using Vocal Chain plugin in Cubase 13 for a while now and it’s great but tonight as I prepare my mix of live 1 hr concert in my iMac Pro the plugin is now grey’d out and I can’t open it. The client’s lead vocal channel without it as mixed to this point now sounds anemic.

Any ideas why or how to fix?

I have purchased the C14 pro update and downloaded it weeks ago, but didn’t want to switch to it and chance ruining a couple weeks of mixing work. When I did open it up in the beginging after I downloaded it I had some issues (don’t remember now, maybe freeze or quit) but figured when this project is over and I have time to mess around I’d get back to that.

I though you could have C13 pro and C14pro in your applications folder with no problem (I think I have C12 in there now too… Do you think thats an issue?

Thx.

Hi,

You can have multiple Cubase versions installed side by side.

Is the plug-in enabled in the VST Plug-in Manager? Could you attach a screenshot, where exactly it is greyed out, please?

Odds are you have the button that bypasses any plugins that add latency (which VocalChain does) active. Just click on that to deactivate it, and VocalChain should be available to open again. (The only reason I know this is because it happened to me once, too, and all of a sudden I couldn’t figure out why certain plugins, including VocalChain, in my project could no longer be opened.)
