I usually double my vocals with copying the track, adjusting pan and then set one of the two channels 10ms delayed from the other for a natural double sound.
I’ve noticed that sometimes this can affect the vibrato of the vocal. It’s hard to explain but I’m assuming that the slight delay slightly cancels out the quick vibrato movements of the other. Not sure if that made any sense. In other words a vocal can have a nice vibrato, but when I double the way I described, the vibrato is much less noticeable.
IF that makes sense to you, is there a correction that I can put on the tail vocal sections where vibrato is more important? Perhaps eliminating that slight delay?
I will admit, it could be some of the vocal chain effects that add to the problem. maybe 10ms isn’t enough to cause what I’m describing.
