Vocal Sample Sounds Different In Project

I have a pitch corrected vocal sample, it sounds right when I preview it but after dragging it into the project the pitch and timing are both off. Why might that happen to the pitch?

Where do you preview the sample, please?

Is the Musical Mode enabled on the Audio Event in the Project, please?

Preview In the Media Bay. Musical Mode is on, but I’ve tried it both ways and the pitch is still off…

Is the sample using the same Sample Rate as the Project?
