If you select a note you can see to which voice it belongs (Up-stem 1, Down-stem2 etc), but what you can NOT see is to which system the voice belongs! In a grand staff instrument, the voices many times shift between the upper and the lower system, and regularly you can end up with two or more notes on the same system, all belonging to up-stem1, but with different colors, so they must belong to different voices…
This happens especially if you have finished something, and later on there is some editing neccesary. Have I overlooked something, or is it not possible to see this information?
Can one not compare the color of the questionable voice to what is in the “other” staff?
When selecting a note, the information in the status bar at the bottom also contains information about the corresponding voice.
Sure, but it doesn’t tell you to which staff that voice belongs.
Ah sorry, I should have read the initial post more carefully.
Dorico sets Up-Stem 1 on each staff in different colours, so you can usually tell which is which.
(I’ve changed the default voice to Black.)
Yes offcourse that is what I do, but sometimes one is red, and the other orange, difficult to see, but I was also wondering where one could find this information, which must be available, somewhere
Thanks this is the one I overlooked! Never been there before, I do not use this part of the panel, only the “normal” (for me) part where you can edit all the options.
Would be nice if it is displayed always in the bottom panel together with the other information…
