Hi,
I need to add a volume automation of a group (NOT of one of the audio tracks inside the group). When opening the automation at this group some parameter (not volume) is pre-selected. Opening the parameter-dropdown list volume is at the top. When I select volume, it is not taken over to the actual paramater of the automation!
Doing this on audio tracks it works as expected. Steinberg support is still working on this issue with me…
Which version of Nuendo is this?
And can you show a screenshot of what you are talking about? I have a really hard time understanding what the problem is.

Volume is the first parameter. You don’t need to select anything, just turn it on.
I know that. But the behavior is different to simple audio tracks. There it is like expected. At groups this is not a feature or somehow fast or intuitiv…it simply is an error!

Just create a group and try to do volume automation
Do the same with another simple audio track…do you see the difference?
I can activate automation and draw points instantly.
The group track itself contains no audio data, just automation.
It is the volume automation by default. There is absolutely no change necessary.
Why do you need to change something in the dropdown?

I use automation 5+ days per week for a living using Nuendo. I still don’t see the problem and I agree with st10ss.
Try to write exactly what it is you want to change or show a picture.

I once again did some testing. I am wrong, it works fine…I did not recognize that a group has two automations. One right at the group and one when you open the automation at the little arrow…Thanks!
There is just one automation.

There’s only one automation at audio tracks of course.
They probably meant just one for volume.
Hmmm, I mean there is one automation that does automation for different parameters. But every parameter has just one lane. The main data for a group track is just plain volume automation. There is no additional volume lane possible.
