I’m having strange problems with playback of a simple Dorico 6 project.
I’ve set up a concert band template, and all the VSL instruments load as expected. I’m arranging a Bach Chorale. I’ve entered the top voice on flute, which all plays correctly. I’m currently adding the second voice on clarinet. During playback, both voices play until the same spot in bar 4, when the clarinet playback stops while the flute continues.
I then go back and assign the clarinet 2 instrument to this track, and the same thing happens. I have also set up a new VST instrument, assigned the clarinet, set the expression map. Starting playback again with this new clarinet instance, it reaches exactly the same spot and playback stops, while the flute continues.
Has anyone heard of this issue occuring? Is there something simple I am missing? There are no articulations or dynamics assigned, it’s all just basic note entry.
If I copy and paste the notation from clarinet part to another stave, the same thing happens with that instrument - plays for 3 1/2 bars, then nothing, and the VSL Synchron player assigned to the track becomes inoperative. It must be something I did accidentally while inputting notes on the original clarinet stave, but what would cause this behaviour?
Would it be possible that you post the project file here in order that we can try to reproduce the problem and give further advice?

I can’t remember exactly how VSL handles this, but have you made sure that you have logged into your iLok account? Some VSTs will play a bit then drop out. I can’t recall if VSL does that or just won’t load in the first place, but I would double-check that you’ve logged in to iLok correctly to eliminate that as a possible source of the issue.
