Is there a way to make the VSL more responsive to the music notation details in dorico (esp. dynamics) other than running it through NotePerformer (which doesn’t do saxophones!) or manually entering all the dynamics in mix/edit in ProTools?

If you want to create greater differences in dynamics, you can adjust the dynamic curve settings in Playback Options! Cmd+Shift+P, then select “Dynamics” on the left bar. It’s the first option.
