VST 2 version

I was going to use H4 in a host ready only for VST 2 plugins, but can’t find any VST 2 version of H4 in my VST folder.

Even Steinberg list it as a VST 2 plugin: http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/vst/halion/specs_downloads.html

What am I missing?

Perhaps there is only a VST 2 version for Windows?

Try the Knowledge Base?

The Knowledge Base is useful in the sense that it’s telling me in which folder I should find VST2 plugin, which is where I have looked without finding it. What it doesn’t tell me is why Steinberg is stating on their web site:

VST 2, VST 3 or AU compatible host for using as plug-in

while I apparently can’t open it in a VST 2 host (energyXT). I’ve started to think it’s because the VST2 plugin for Mac doesn’t exist, but I’m not 100 % sure.

That is why I trust the forum to help me bring forward the facts about this :slight_smile:

I wish you luck with that. You’ve paid for support, so why not log the issue with Steinberg? Is it that you don’t believe what the manufacturer is telling you?
