Hi Gennaro,

could you give us some more information on what you’re trying to do? Do you want to use SpectraLayers inside another application or are some VST plugins missing inside SpectraLayers?

If you want to use SL inside another application, this program must support ARA which is a kind of extended VST3 format. So, you can’t load SL as an insert plugin or a virtual instrument but you need to load it using the ARA mechanism. For example, in Cubase, ARA extensions can be loaded from the inspector or the info line of audio events:

Hello Martin

thank you so much for your answer

I am using SL12 pro stand alone or in C 15 pro

The issue is that when I use the VST module in SL12 pro I don’t have any VST.

Inside of preferences I found the root but i don’t know where VST of Steinberg are.

I’m on a Mac so I’m not sure, but try the path shown above in your image, but without pointing to a Steinberg folder. That would be ”C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3”.

If you have any 3rd party plugins they should reside there.

You can also rescan for VST plugins from one drop down menu in the VST3 Window you show (that is empty for you).

Yes, @Marshall is correct, you should fix the VST3 path to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3.
The Steinberg plugins bundled with Cubase, like Frequency or SuperVision, can only be used in Cubase. Other applications , including SpectraLayers, can’t access them and are therefore not listed there. They are not available in the SL ARA extension either.

Hello team

am so sorry but even using C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 I didn't find any VST's

Strange that when I scan the VST’s I can see Halion, backbone, groove agent etc. but no EQ, Compressor etc.

Really I don’t know what I did wrong

What specific plugins are you missing? Could you name some of them? Are these all plugins coming with Cubase, like SuperVision or Frequency? If so, they are not available in SL because they are locked and only visible in Cubase.

Hello Gennaro,
as I mentioned, all Steinberg plugins that are installed together with Cubase, like the reverbs, compressors, equalizers etc., are restricted to Cubase and can’t be used in other applications. They are not available in SpectraLayers, unfortunately.

Instead, you could install third-party plugins, like the free ones from TDR or Kilohearts.

Into preferences I did the corret path

Yes that’s right but it doesn’t matter. The Steinberg plugins are technically protected and tied to Cubase. There’s nothing you can do to use them in SpectraLayers.

To show a list of plugins available in SL and to load them, click on the little arrow:

Hello Martin

I followed your advice and nothing, only two plug in as show into the picture.

What I would like to find plug in as per your picture

Hello Gennaro,

the categories shown in the screenshots depend on the plugins installed. Plugins that SpectraLayers can’t access or use, like VST instruments or protected Cubase plugins, don’t show up in the list. As you seem to have installed only few third-party plugins, you only get a short list.
If you install the free equalizer TDR Nova, for example, it will appear under the “EQ” category.

Hello Martin

I understood

Thank you so much
