As said above, you instead click on the looks-like-unmuted mute button then the track will make a sound, no need to duplicate or anything, it’s simply just a UI glitch (which doesn’t look like so). If you disable/enable VSTi/sampler tracks, then keep in mind that you may have to press the mute button when it doesn’t sound.
