VST Instruments not in Selection Window

I only find two out of my eight VST Instruments that I typically use to be listed in the VST drop down selection window. Upon Dorico startup the audio engine does find all the VST as you can confirm because they flash quickly as the program opens. But, when I go to add a new VST I do not find my full list, I especially want to use my Vienna Instruments and the Vienna Synchron Piano. Under Dorico Preferences I did have it Clear Audio Engine Cache and Reset Audio engine Data followed by a restart. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The only two VSTs that show are East West and Steinberg. Thanks.

Hi @skeirik , please do from Dorico’s menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report and attach the corresponding zip file to a reply here. Thanks

Dorico Diagnostics.zip (607.0 KB)

File attached.

Other Info: Mac Pro, all VST files stored on 2TB SSD G Drive at same level directly connected to Mac Pro.

Thanks, any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Kaleel

Hi Kaleel,

you have a Mac with the new Apple M chip and the vstscanner put a dozen or more plug-ins on the blacklist, because most likely they are not compatible with the Apple M chip. So I guess you need to reach out to the corresponding vendors and get updated plug-ins.
Unpack your diagnostic report and navigate to the subfolder
Dorico Diagnostics\AudioEngine\Dorico 6 AudioEngine\Dorico 6 AudioEngine VST3 Cache (arm64)
In there is a file called vst3blocklist.xml. Drag that file into a webbrowser and it will show nicely formatted and you can see the rejected plug-ins.
