Hi all and thanks for your patience with Finale user demoing Dorico with a view to buying. I really like it, but need to sort out the vst instruments.
When I try to change something in the vst slot it either hangs (round circle) or I get the error message that it was opened with previous version od Halion (cannot be)!
Can’t find my note performer and when I try my vienna ensemble it just hangs. Do I need to purchase so its not a demo version?
No no, the trial version is fully functional.

For a first overview, please do from the menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report and post the corresponding zip file here. Thanks
And already upfront, to run NotePerformer in Dorico it needs a special variant of NP. So please run the NP installer again.

Thank you so much ulf. think I’ve figured out the VST’s even though looking at a video of older Dorico version. Got my VSL and Kontact working and its great.
Note performer I will try tomorrow and feedback. Need to hunt down where I put the installer.
Will also create diagnostic report and post tomorrow if error message happens again.
Really liking this program - already entering notes/dynamics/articulations etc much more quickly. Seems a good workflow.

You can always request a new installer download link via Wallander’s webpage. That also makes sure that you do get the very latest version.
Found it thank you. All vst’s seem to be working well now. I think it was a learning curve of how to load and map them into the play window.
