VST Latency when recording wet

I am using Ai with a yamaha n12. I tried to record guitar with the waves GRT VST inserted but the laytency is far too great.

Is there anyway to record “wet” without the latency?

Normally one would reduce the buffer size found in the specific ASIO driver control panel to reduce the latency.
