Vst lists of effects and or instruments

Cubase 12 Pro - latest version

when Cubase 12 Pro loads up does it load up in to your RAM just because you have VST effects and VST instruments on the list not currently active in a recording session?

If so:

I only use 2 vst effects and the SWAM Library in the above version.

is there a way to delete all of the other effects and libraries since they are not being used?

I only want to see my effects and libraries for my choices on the list I am only using because I’m assuming this is causing more crashes in windows 11.

Alan Russell.

Hi,

No, the plug-in becomes loaded once you use it in the project.

Martin - let’s work together like we did in the past to find a resolve for my Cubase 12 Pro lock ups and or crashes…tell me what you need to see.

Hi Alan,

First describe your issue, please. What happens and what would you expect instead?

while listening to the project play back, the cursor line on the track just stops but the music keeps playing. If I try to stop the playback I can’t… If I click “File” nothing happens. At that point I go in to Windows and I have to "End task for Cubase 12 pro and then reboot the computer.

Hi,

Generate a DMP file and share it via Dropbox or similar service, please.

Use Microsoft ProcDump utility to generate a DMP file, please.

  1. Please download ProcDump64 from Microsoft (~650kB) and extract the archive to a local folder on your harddisk.

  2. Run Command Prompt (cmd) as administrator (right click and select “run as administrator”)

  3. Navigate (in the Command Prompt) to the folder with the extracted procdump file.
    For example:
    cd C:\ Users \ \ Downloads \ Procdump
Note: the dmp file will be written into that folder.

  4. Launch Cubase/Nuendo. You can work as usual. At any time, change to the command prompt and start procdump, to monitor Cubase/Nuendo for unexpected behavior (see next step).

  5. Launch procdump64 via Command Prompt:
    Cubase 12:
    procdump64 -e -h -t Cubase12

Nuendo 12:
procdump64 -e -h -t Nuendo12

The -h option will write a dmp file in case of an application hang. This might kick in too early sometimes, in case some action takes a little longer. Feel free to skip the “-h” option, if you are only up for fetching crashes.
The option -e will catch exeptions and the option -t terminations of the application.

  1. Prodump is now monitoring the Cubase/Nuendo process and will write a crash log, in case Cubase/Nuendo crashes or hangs. Perform the action that causes Cubase/Nuendo to crash and send us the generated crash dmp.

ZIP and share the DMP file via Dropbox or similar service, please.

give me some time - I will get back to you…and thanks!

Hi,

I’m sorry, I don’t think you would get any reply. They have to fix the bug.

Have you tried to Disable Cubase preferences, please?

Hi,

This is a WindowsMIDI-Freeze. Nothing to do with WinRT and also Cubase. It’s on Windows side.

so far everything is working good since I put the correct Yamaha USB driver 2.1.5 for windows 11.
