it’s Saturday and a new Pre-Release 1.3.18 is online. This version has fixed the play-restriction for MIDI/DMX tracks. Beside this we’ve
improved the new functions of the DMX/MIDI editors
fixed the sub-channels of the mixer
improved restoring of LYRICS view values
You can download it here . You also can find a Version History there. If you found new bugs or bugs which are not fixed, please create a new thread and title it with [1.3.18].
Is it me or DMX control is just a joke ?! The new line tool is so frustrating, only creating steps … why integrate DMX if it’s so poor ? The main drawback is that when I’m creating DMX controls with Cubase (and plugins) it does not work when importing into VST Live …
For me, the only way to program DMX is by using plugins that connect to true DMX software, Show Buddy Active – Lighting & Show Control (dmxis.com) for example. But tracks of DMX plugins does not import well, so bad.
What is roadmap of DMX features ? Is there a chance that Steinberg implements an Hardware Abstract such as DMX Control, famous deutsch DMX control software ?
I’m amazed the you’ve recompiled a new pre on saturday. Regarding the last issues, these are the remaining ones, I hope that helps:
new Tempo track drawable values can’t be deleted, edited, selected afterwards.
MIDI and DMX events (even the newly created ones) showing “media offline” header (that meight be fash positive)
MIDI & DMX drawing can overlap (mainly the problem starts, when drawing with snap is off)
DMX
MIDI
Draw → Select tool meight not changing, but remainining in another state:
in addition, as far as MIDI CC is used for automation, ramps and CC / DMX points would be edited in the way how it’s working in Cubase if that is possible.
… what exactly is not working? I guess you are working with the “DMXIS-Instr” VSTi in Cubase on an Instrument Track? Those tracks will be re-created with a “Cubase / File / VST Live Export” and “VST Live File / Import Media Project”.
… sorry, I can not follow you here. Can you please get more detailed?
… there will be more improvements. But we can not publish any information, yet. Sorry. But we are always listening and trying to be transparent and responsive as much as we can.
… thank you for the flowers, @Jihem, @Jihem and @Pieffe. Sometimes a Pre-Release fails, like the 1.3.17 did. Then we are doing our best to get a better version released as soon as possible. 1.3.18 is better now and 1.3.19 is coming soon.
Thank you all for your support, help, input and patience,
Michael.
