VST Live 2.1.14 Pre-Release online

… another Friday and another Pre-Release 2.1.4 of VST Live is online. Wohoo!

You can download it here . You also can find a Version History there. If you found new bugs or bugs which are not fixed, please create a new thread and title it with [2.1.1].

We’ve fixed reported bugs and added some new small features to VST Live. Here they are:

Actions : Added Flex-Loop On/Off
The state of Flex-Loop is now controllable

Layers : Added Invert to Controller Map
You’ve asked for it and here it is : “Invert” has been added to the controller map of a layer.

Tracks : Added Input Channel to MIDI Track
And another request … here its comes!

Stacks : Added Menu-Checkmark to connected Source
Sometimes it’s good to know which item is currently selected.

Thank you all. For all your reports and help! Have a nice weekend,
Michael.

2.1.14: The midi keyboard does not play vst instruments. The same project works fine in VST Live 1.

Starts fine on macOS for me.

2.1.14 always crashes while loading the project !
MacOS Intel 13.7

Yes it is starting. But when you select a project to load, it crashes during loading the project.

You need to be more specific. New project: default Layer (with Halion Sonic) plays fine. Also tracks/add MIDI track, set Input Port and instrument, monitor on: plays fine.
Check “Devices/Connections” if your MIDI Inputs are assigned correctly.

As mentioned elsewhere, there is a bug when actions use ports of devices not currently present. We will provide a fix asap. Actions are saved locally, and also with the project, so both starting VST Live, and loading a project may cause this crash.

I am seeing issues in both 2.1.14 and 2.1.15 with my USB controller not connecting with layers/instruments in my project.

I have a NI KKS88 connected via USB, and it shows up in my connections dialog list (for inputs and outputs). It is selected as the input on multiple layers in multiple songs in my project.

In 2.1.13 (right after the project loads), Live 2 connects, and I can play the selected layer/VST correctly from the specified USB Keyboard, and I see MIDI activity reflected in the MIDI activity LED on the Layer tab as well as the Blue MIDI activity histogram at the bottom of the Live window.

In both 2.1.14 and 2.1.15, the same interface loads up (as in 2.1.13), but no midi notes play the VST in the selected layer. I also do not see any MIDI activity reflected in the MIDI activity LED on the Layer tab, but I do see activity in the Blue Histogram at the bottom window. Also, the VST does play audio when manually playing notes on the VSTs virtual keyboard.

I double checked Audio/Midi Setup (Mac OS 14) and the USB keyboard was sending/receiving Midi properly.

I’ve swapped installations of 13/14/15 a couple of times to verify the problem exists only in 14 and 15.

Same Iusses here, The Midi does not work anymore. The internal virtual midi does not work, idem for midi interfaces for external machines. I send midi from USB keyboar and layers do not work anymore.
downgrading to 2.1.13 with the same connections everything is fine.

… we’ve found the problem and we really sorry for it. Just give us a bit to prepare a new version.

/Michael.

Kontakt vst instruments are connected to the keyboards… Everything was saved in VST Live 1. We use this in rehearsals and concerts. I am constantly testing VST Live 2. Until now, the two software were compatible with each other. 2.1.14 doesn’t open the project the same way as VSTLive 1. But 2.1.16 is flawless again. Thank you!
