I use a fair amount of automation in my project. However in one particular song I have an issue.
I assign the AUTOMATION TRACK to be connected to AUDIO TRACK 1, mapped to ENABLE INSERT 1 at a certain point.
It works as expected. I save, then re-open and sometimes (not all the time) it is now mapped to a different AUDIO TRACK. In fact it reverts to connecting to an AUDIO TRACK NAME that no longer even exists in the project. I have been using 2.2.86 happily, but updated to the latest one 2.2.120 to see if that solved it. But I have the same issue.
I have no other such issues in other songs and this is the only automation needed in this song.
Yes, I have tried saving different versions. It worked for 5 shows in a row, then on show 6, with no other changes suddenly the automation is now outputting to a track that no longer exists in the song.
… that’s really strange! What did you do after you have found it out? You re-route the Automation to the correct track and it’s back working? You saved it and it works now? Or happened it again?
I still have the same issue. Sometimes the automation re-connects itself randomly to another track in the song, or even another one in the project. I have a BASS FOLDER with all my bass tracks in there. For some reason when it re-connects it seems to choose the first one in that folder, no matter the song.
I seem to have slightly more consistent automation with it turning on and off functions within VST Live. So turning on Insert Slot 1 for example. I rarely have to re-connect that.
However if I assign it to a specific function in the mixer, for example, turn on a button within plug-in on a channel it’ll work until I restart the app.
I have created a new song, built from scratch only to have the same issue. However on the oldest songs that have a lot of automation I have no problems at all. It seems to only be automations created in latter era 2.0.xx version projects.
Please note when it fails within the one plugin, it seems to not re-connect randomly. It looks connected, it just stops working.
