Hello, I have started vstl2 on my desktop, it runs flawlessly. Network. (RJ45:Home)
I have started vst live mods 1.5 on my Ipad and am online. Network (Wlan: Home)
But nothing is displayed, why? There is No Song

Just an experience (w.o. knowing the mechanizm) if song change/curr.sng.load is utilised during a disconnected state, might not pulled at moment of reconn. Close app and reopen pulls
⦠are you running the latest VL version? Currently it should be 2.1.36. More here.
⦠do you see a āONLINEā status on the Mods application?
⦠do see a green PEERS display on the VST Live application?
⦠are you running any Firewall on your Mac/Windows? What OS are you running?
See you,
Michael.
The MODS application displays ONLINE?
Can you verify your āVST Live Modsā settings on your iOS Device? Is āLocal Networkā enabled? Hereās screenshot (german language)
See you,
Michael.
I will test it later, I switched now to my live setup. There it works great. I love it.

Vst live mods hooks on setlist view, itās not possible to switch the songs twice. Still highlighted, I have to restart the app.

I can start/change anytime, but true, highlight remains
I can choose only once.
Thank you for the fantastic work done!
Below are the issues encountered. I should mention that I am using Windows 11 on the PC, iOS 15.8.3 on both the iPhone 7 and iPad Air 2, and iOS 16.7.10 on the 5th Gen iPad:
- If I am connected via Ethernet cable for the Internet and to the Behringer X32 R WiFi for stage activities, to see the āONLINEā status on VST Live Mods, I have to disconnect the Ethernet cable. However, even if it shows āOFFLINEā, I can still see the setlist and click on the songs, but the lyrics do not work.
- Once I see āONLINEā and view the setlist on mobile devices, I click on a song and notice that if auto-start is not pre-set, there is no way to start it, although that song is highlighted on the DAW. Therefore, I can only start it from the DAW.
- The same happens if I need to stop the song: I cannot do it from the mobile devices, I have to do it from the DAW.
- If I want to restart a previously played song, I cannot do it. It can only be done once.
- If I start a song from the DAW, the corresponding song is not selected on the setlist displayed on mobile devices.
- The side scroll bar is small and, when navigating the setlist, there is a risk of accidentally starting a song. Fixed buttons for forward, backward, start, and stop would also be useful to avoid accidentally touching songs.
- Regarding the lyrics, they are still unreadable because further zooming is not possible, and the words appear overlapped.
- It would be helpful to have the option to enlarge the lyrics, which are small and not readable from a typical stage distance.
I would also like to add something else. The metronome runs faster in the app than on the desktop, i.e. not synchronously. (Macbook & iPhone)
Im not sure if im getting this really wrong here⦠I just bought an Ipad (10 gen) to use this app. I synced it with my show on VST Live 2.36 (Win 11). I have āonlineā in the app and ā1 persā in green bottom left of the VST live screen.
I can see the setlist loads up on the IOS application. But then, nothing. If I click a song to start it highlights/selects on VST live but nothing actually happens (i.e. no track is played, I cant click it again to start or anything). If I try to click any other song while a song is playing, it sets off a flexloop of 1 beat then starts the song again. If I have already selected a song and it is highlighted (as other people have said), I cant re-select it to play again. Weird behaviour. Did I miss something? Is there a guide somewhere?
Hi! Try clicking on the 1st PART (there is a little PLAY at itās left side⦠within the extended song). For me itās working, while clicking song titles doesnt. I hope this helps
You connect to the internet in a live setting? Just asking for trouble.
It sounds like your Ethernet and WiFi networks are using the same address range so your device doesnāt know which port to use.
Hi @Gianluca_D ! @CliveJ is right, also currently there is no setting in VSTL which network to use.
W.o see your exact setup, I would suggest you this solution below:
Use one network subnet instead, using one router(+gateway+DNS+DHCP+AP) where your devices
- X32
- VSTL computer
- iOS devices
- etc
are connected within the same network.
Does this make sense?
My setup involves connecting all devices to the stage router via Wi-Fi. All devices are connected to the same network, with pre-set IP addresses in the router. Ideally, it would be best to connect the DAW to the router via Ethernet to ensure a more secure data flow, and do the same for other fixed devices. Meanwhile, other mobile devices can continue to connect to the router via Wi-Fi if necessary. I hope that the option to choose connectivity on VSTL will be implemented as soon as possible.
Hi @Gianluca_D !
I think you need only to disable WIFI adapter on your devices which are connected with wire (ETH). That will solve most anomalies
(Second : VSTL is not especially designed to be a āDAWā)
