See you,

Hello! I‘ve downloaded VST Pro for a Trail… Are there any VST Live Tutorials for beginners available?

Do you have any experience with other software (like i.e. Gig Performer 5… )Which software would you recommend?

Here is the first tutorial for start:

There is a manual for VSTLive, also lots of answers can be found here on the forum.

VST Live - of course

… Thank you for your answer! It seems there are only a few Tutorials available…

But Gig performer seems to have much more support/ Tutorials/ Community-Forum and a longer „tradition“…?

Any Pros to use VST Live 2 vs Gig performer 5…?

you have a VSTL trial, so you can try out all the features  What is your goal/field-of-usage with VSTL? I mean VL can control a complete midsize show, but can be used as a VST host or a stereo backingtrack or video player only. So there is a huge range…

This you @fkalmus ???!?! Much needed tutorial series !! good collab with Steinberg

Plus you get a Steinberg T-Shirt

An example of a complete song in VST live 2, with 7 live audio inputs, with live VST Plugin, lyrics, DMX lights, effect automation, mixing, iem monitoring, mastering, video, all live :

And, a live exibition all managed thru VST Live 2

Cheers, Ciro.

… Hmmm… It’s just really strange, that VST Live doesn’t seem to have structured Beginner’s Tutorials so that you can learn step by step the features from VST Live… It also seems that there is no German version available..? Really strange, that a product from Steinberg seems not so “supported” like Dorico, Cubase, SpectraLayers…

Hello @fkalmus

I didn’t want to complain, but was rather surprised that VST Live 2 seems to have so little “introductory material for beginners” (step by step tutorials… etc.) As a German-speaking user, I’m also used to getting German help from Cubase, Dorico, SpectraLayers etc… (e.g. from Holger Steinbrinck Tutorials/ Audio Workshops) and to look at a new program so that I have a first introduction.

But of course I am also happy to ask my questions here in the forum

For example, are there no markers in VST Live 2 that I can use to jump to a defined position in a song/part? (like in Cubase)

Also positioning flexloops seems quite difficult to position without markers…

Thanks for your help and best wishes

Hi! You need to define PARTS and their trigger time (check my linket tutorial). You can use them as markers and flexloop ranges

.. Is there a way to change the language of VST Live 2 to GERMAN…? (Normally you can change the the Steinberg Software in Preferences..?)

Thanks for any clarification!!

Hi! I don’t think it’s currently avaiable.

Thanks for your quick answers! .. That’s really strange… As far as I know all/ the most of the other Steinberg-Software is multilingual..

You are comparing softwares that have been in development for years (decades for cubase/nuendo) with the most recent one, two years at most, and by a small team, obviously the maturity levels are different, and steinberg would not put a big team and big money from start, they’ll figure out if the monetization potential is worth the effort.

That is my personal opinion and in no way I have any internal info.

Cheers, Ciro.
