VST Live Pre-Release 3.0.31 is online

Hi Friday,

Today we’ve pushed version 3..0.30 and 2.2.110 to the Steinberg Download Addistant. But we don’t stop : A new Pre-Release version 3.0.31is now available, too

You can download them here.
The version history is available here.

This update includes a long-awaited improvement:
New: Preferences (MIDI) → Update Remote Mixer Actions

After switching or loading a song, all mixer states are now re-triggered to properly update connected remote mixers.

Have a nice weekend,
Michael

… can you please give us some help what “not working” means?

  • The dialog does not appear?
  • No Audio Tracks appears?
  • The Clip is to short?

Maybe we need the video file to get it more analyzed? Somehow possible?

Thank you,
Michael.

Thank you,
Michael.

@Spork @musicullum thank you for the most wanted update mixer midi out!!! It mostly works now! But I found a small bug: when loading and switching song , only for values of the first channel of vst live mixer (in my case all sends of first channel), all switches sends a false value losing synch with correct send value, can’t explain better, see the video below, TouchOSC channel CLICK is linked to 1st. Vst live channel sends, each song switch it is set to max in TouchOSC (but stays good in vst mixer).

All the rest is very ok!! Thanks!

Edit: and global channels (global stacks/layers/groups) values are not resent at song switch, only at project load so if you connect a TouchOSC device after project load, you’ll need to close and reopen project, song switch is not sufficient. Not a big issue, just to let you know

Last week @tunecreators describe the probler her,

and

and @musicullum says it is fixed with 3.0.30

and here it looks like it has become fixed but it don’t.

which switches?

The video does not help, sorry. Can you provide repro sequence?

It looks like you are talking about the Send Values, not “switch” (as in “Enable”), correct? And you say only the first channels’ sends are correct…or?

Or send a .vlprj file and explain what happens (or does not happen), thanks.

Edit 2: workaround is a fake 1st channel and move all actions from 2nd onward, so the bug is related to 1st channel mixer only!

At song switch spurious values are sent to 1st vst mixer channel actions. Only 1st channel affected. Inserting a fake 1st channel and moving actions from 2nd channel onward fix things.

Cheers, Ciro.

Freshly installed 3.0.31, imported video with audio and it works fine here. What kind of video do you have, and what exactly happens?

Could you pleeease send a .vlrprj file? Thanks!

  • add 2 global groups to mixer channel 1st and 2nd position
  • Add 2 sends to each
  • Add 2 or more songs
  • Action and shortcut : link action and out feedback to 1st and 2nd channel send1 and send2 (4 actions total)
  • Check actions are working, set them at mid low fader position and save project, set external mixer faders to zero and reopen.
  • External faders should restore to saved position.
  • Change song
  • The channel 1 sends external mixer receives fake high position (fake because in vstlive mixer they stay correct). The channel 2 sends is correct.
  • Each song switch the 1st channel sends receive the same wrong value.

Only 1st channel affected. I moved all actions from 2nd channel onward inserting a empty fake 1st channel and everything is good.

Cheers Ciro.

Ok, will try that, thanks.

Here is the projekt with a video. And here you can see in the parts some info on different video. With MOV container it is wors than mp4.

The audio in the video import is not full length.zip (2.8 MB)

Indeed. Will check and fix, thanks. Works fine with multiple other video files here, but something is different with yours, sorry.

Still not working on mine, updated to 3.0.31. back down to 3.0.25 again, then, for me!

Fixed with the next version.

Cannot reproduce, did exactly as you described. Used X-Touch faders 1-4 as sends.

Of course, all channels of Song 2 need to have the same order as Song 1, that should be obvious? Then I can toggle between Song 1 and 2 and nothing changes.

Ok so must be something in my old big project, I’ll test again carefully , but anyway having inserted a fake 1st channel (obviously as you said all songs have same mixer orders) everything works as expected

EDIT retested on a clean new project, it works as it ahould, so sorry for having you test it. It is something in my old project, maybe some error in actions and shortcuts config or something else that send a midi message. I’ll check carefully.

Thank you!
