If I am in the Song Nr. 2 “Hulapalu” and search by keyword “Klaus” then the song “Hallo Klaus” is shown to me as a search result. But I cannot select “Hallo Klaus” with my Mouse on my Windows 11 Computer.
It seems that maybe some software issue is causing this limitation.
I assume that it should be possible to select a song which I was searching for.
In other cases I can do that but in case of this constellation it is not possible.
If helpful I can also provide my current VST live Project as well as a short video which shows be system behaviour in an easy way.
I can confirm this on Mac. It’s not limited to mouse use. While I can normally scroll through songs using arrow keys or my assigned MIDI remote controls, this doesn’t work within search results. I have to click on the desired search result to activate it.
Reason for this seems to be that “normal” scrolling still takes place:
Let’s assume you have Song 10 active and your search result is Song 20. On screen you see song 20 directly below the currently active Song 10. You now have to scroll “blindly” through all the hidden 9 other songs in between to finally select Song 20.
On Windows as well, but only when the search result displays just one song (along with the current one), it isn’t clickable. If there are more results, or the current song is listed below the one found, it can be clicked.
Yes, you’re correct. However, here it’s impossible to scroll through the search results, no matter how many they are. VL will always scroll through the whole shebang then.
I would advise against trying to change keyboard navigation though.
In live, if you search for a song and mouse click the result to play the song is one thing. But since midi actions for prev/next song is the same actions as keyboard key navigation, you might end up in a situation that you cannot move forward/backwards in the setlist with midi because search is activated.
Hope I managed to explain my concern clear so that it makes sense for you guys too
