VST Plug Ins update crash

I’ve been having a problem with my Cubase lately: everytime I press ‘update’ in ‘Plug-In Information’ → ‘VST Plug-Ins’ Cubase freezes and I have to force it to close with the task manager.

I am using Cubase 6.0.7 64bit on Windows 7 Professional 64bit.

And here is the problem signature, which is in german only, sorry…

Any ideas what might be the problem?

Personally I find it is better to add the specific path (not the entire drive as that will cause crashing), then shut down and restart Cubase. This way you will see each initializing plugin and if they have licensing issues they will typically open a dialog. If they still fail, typically the last plugin trying to load is the cause of the issue. I hope this information helps.
