How do you route MIDI Input to VST rack instruments?

  1. Create a MIDI track.

  2. Set its MIDI input as your favorite MIDI controller.

  3. Set its MIDI output to the VSTi plugin and MIDI channel your prefer. If you choose ‘any’ the output will be on the same channel as it was initially sent by your controller.

  4. To hear something you’ll need to ‘arm’ the track. You can toggle its record or monitor button. At that point it will pass events on to the instrument in your virtual rack.
