Hi everyone!
I’m working on a very large project and have therefore set up a large VST rack. I’m working on my fast desktop PC and my less powerful laptop. Because of this, I’ve disabled project activation on loading on the laptop (and I’m only working on the layout).
However, as soon as I reload the project on the desktop PC, “Noteperformer” is selected as the playback template, and my entire VST rack is messed up.
Luckily, I saved the VST rack as an endpoint configuration. But when I load it in my playback template, all the VSTs are loaded two or three times – in up to 74 (!) slots. Sorting them all takes forever.
What am I doing wrong?

Testfile: this is my project without the music. And the endpoint-config (already fixed a few times). Change the playback-Template and then back to “endpoint”. 74 (!) Slots…

In the Playback template, is your endpoint configuration listed above Note Performer?

Not sure if this is it. But mine looks something like this:

You have separate endpoints, @masis82 saved the entire rack as 1 endpoint, which includes NotePerformer. My guess is the lack of family and/or instrument overrides is causing the chaos. I would save each VST as a separate endpoint and pull them all into a single Playback Template with NotePerformer as the last entry (bottom).

You’re talking about the edit-window when I click on my template and then “edit”, right?
Yes, it’s just “endpoint” - I asked the AI but it recommended both… 
And in my project I couldn’t find any differences so I left “endpoint” without NP.

That confuses me!
At the end of my VST-rack I click at this arrow-button to save the configuration. Doesn’t it simply save the whole list? I didn’t know that it is possible to save each VST-slot seperately.
… but NotePerformer is in “endpoint”.
I actually just learned about saving the whole rack recently 
The little cog-wheel to the left of the little ‘e’:
Name it appropriately and click Save Endpoint … Then you can collect all your endpoints into a Playback Template making sure NotePerformer is the last in the list (should already exists as a “Factory” template).

Alright. I tested it. I saved every endpoint as a seperate file and put it into the playback-template-list with Noteperformer as the last entry. It looks like this (german, sorry):
I load the template and the double, triple entries re-appear - unfortunately.
But it is tiedier than before though, “just” 31 slots (for 20 in reality)
I have a suspicion: I’ve been experimenting a lot with the function “edits apply to this flow” and it’s behaving strangely. I think Dorico creates its own endpoints in the background for each flow, but can’t assign them correctly once the Playback template is loaded. I’m going to try deleting the keyboards, recreating them, and then see if loading the template works properly.
Edit: not working. new keyboards just with the independent voice playback activated couldn’t solve the problem. Anyways… 31 better than 84 I’ll keep going.
