VST2.1.1 Lyrics with Chords

Great function but needs some refinement… check pic chords not visible at all… tried size and frame enlargement with no success

how can i activate the chords on the VST live Mods?

Andi

… it’s not possible at the moment,
Michael.

… give us a sec. We’ll return with a suggestion.

that’s one of my improvement suggestion : the ability to “stick” chords to the text. I’ll try a solution soon by adding a text line (with the chords) just above the text line but i guess that it will be uneasy and long ! Ideally, a"floating text box" would be great  but if we could have the possibility of changing size and colour , it would be a good start !

Hi, it would be nice to add the chords right above the text. I think many people are used to that. I’ve seen it done that way in many app.

Can you also consider the use case where I’m not playing to a track but still want to see both lyrics and chords together.

  1. I need to see more than one line at a time (on the PC app, not the mobile). A verse or a chorus for example.
  2. I want to be able to page down / page up the lyric view via a midi event that I can trigger from a controller or pedal. I could live with a fixed page size but having a definable page size for each verse/chorus would be nice.
  3. Having markers that I can trigger to different midi events would be better again, so I can fire one midi event to jump to the chorus, then a different event to jump to verse 3. As I’m not playing along with a track, timestamp markers don’t work for me.
  4. Transpose feature for those chords is essential.

Up till now I’ve been trying to work with a combination of a chords track and lyrics using the notes or a pdf. The lyrics track hasn’t been worth the bother of cutting and pasting the text as it seems aimed purely for those playing along a timed track.

Thank you.

I would like to see a display window that shows the test syllable by syllable as shown in the video. If I violate copyright laws with the video, please ask the admins to remove the video.

Many midifile players can already realize a display of this kind today.
The text including chords is also already available in most midi files.

At the moment, VST Live asks when importing a midi file whether it should import the existing text. However, the result is very modest. Not to say “not usable”.
Perhaps both types of display could be offered. Those who want to have the chords displayed above the text lines (syllable by syllable) and other users who want to use the scrolling monitor.

Furthermore, the color for the selected chord text should be adjustable by the user. In the best case, for each chord individually. (Nice to have).
The same applies to text color and the already sung text, which is highlighted in color.
