VST2 discontinued across entire Steinberg product range - Windows and Mac

The issues are developer side and why many MIDI based plugins won’t/can’t move to VST2. I’m sure you know all this already though? If not:-

Bottom line is that Steinberg actively condone tasks that VST2 plugins have merrily done in the past, and since have made it a lot harder to replicate in VST3.

The crazy thing is, despite Steinberg’s stance on VST3 their internal MIDI Inserts are stuck static in the land of MIDI CC. It’s quite hypocritical really, and the end user loses out in both instances - crap, outdated internal MIDI modulations, while obstructing the ability for third parties to bridge that gap in VST3.
