Vst2 plugin can't found

I have a vst 2 plugin that I want to import into Cubase le 14
If I press Vst2 button, it will cause the program to crash
When I open it again, I get the message ‘The application terminated due to an accident’
How do I fix this?
(My native language is Taiwanese, please forgive me for any inconvenience)

Hi and welcome to the forum!
What VST2 plugin are you trying to use? It must be quite old, right? Is there a possible update? Where did you install it? You meant the VST2 button in the VST Plugin Manager, right?

Hi,

Also I think the plugin will not work well (if at all?) if it is 32-bit, would that be applicable here?

That would indeed be problematic since Cubase 8.5 was the latest version which supported 32bit plugins via the internal VST-Bridge. Apart from the fact that is was not very reliable and J-Bridge did a better job back then I highly doubt that one can work with that plugin anymore without risking trouble these days.

Regarding the last question, yes, as soon as I press that button the program crashes.
The plugin I want to use is piapro studio, and the normal version I bought seems to only support VST2, while the version that supports VST3 is another paid version

The program crashes during the scanning phase, so I don’t know if there are any other problems with the plugin

Maybe googling will tell you if it is 32 bit.

If it is 32-bit (Cubase only allows 64-bit plugins recently) and if you really really need it maybe there is a wrapper or something that lets you use it in Cubase.

I found out that this plugin is 64-bit.
I guess if I can get CUBASE’s VST2 compatibility mode to start, I’ll be able to find the plugin I want in the plugin list
