Very new to this technology and having issues getting VST connect to work. I can hear and “see” signal coming into VST connect pro, however Cubase itself does not record this signal. I have made several changes to the I/O settings and Control Room settings to no avail. Anyone have insight into where the problem lies?
You should not mess with any settings yourself.
The “Create VST Connect” function does everything automatically (find it in the VST Cloud menu). Attempting to change any routing related to VST Connect manually is calling for trouble.
As you may have already changed Control Room settings “for bad”, you should first apply “Remove VST Connect”. Then in Control Room remove all monitors and everything else that have “VST Connect” in their name.
Then apply “Create VST Connect”. You should further use “Create Performer Track” and use those tracks for recording. Also avoid activating Monitor for these tracks, as you will get a significant delay. Use the “Rehears” button only if you know exactly what it does.
In general, and that doesn’t just apply to VST Connect: if you try out things with new tech and you set something, but that doesn’t provide the expected result: set it back to what it was before. It can save you a lot of trouble.
