What’s the best way to create mono tracks from, say, Halion Sonic SE (or any stereo VSTi) ?

You can route to a mono group
You can use any plugin with a mono switch
You can switch to the combined panner (very fiddly…wouldn’t advise it)

It’s a bit of a pain having to create a mono group just for every MONO track I want with a VSTi but I prefer this to using combined panner or StereoEnhancer plug-in because of the width control that can’t be turned off.

Would be easier if could just route output from the VSTi to a mono channel though.

I use A1 Stereo control for any kind of width adjustment. It’s a free plug, totally stable and very useful.
