In my project, I use Groove Agent SE in the Global Layer, with the MIDI input set to a virtual MIDI input. Inside GA, a sample for the low click is assigned to pad C1, and a sample for the high click is assigned to C#1 (the sound matches the standard Cubase click—I created two samples from it).
In the metronome settings, the low pad (C0) is assigned to the low part of the MIDI click, and pad C#1 is assigned to the high part.
Sometimes the low notes fail to trigger, meaning only the “1” is heard while the other clicks (2, 3, etc.) are missing.
I can’t pinpoint exactly when this happens; it varies from song to song (after switching to a different song).
Since we want to use this specific Cubase click sound in VST Live, I created a MIDI click track (I did this before the MIDI click function was introduced in VST Live). However, if the issue were resolved, I would use the built-in VST Live metronome.
