VSTL2 & HalionSonic multis

I created two MIDI tracks that are routed to a layer using HALion Sonic SE in Multis. One track sends on channel 2 and the other on channel 3.
If I mute the track on channel 2, the entire HALion instance gets muted and nothing plays anymore.
I was expecting that, since it’s a MIDI track, muting it would only mute that MIDI part, not the whole instrument.

Maybe I’m missing something?

Hi everyone,
I watched this video:

Until some time ago, I was able to mute individual tracks belonging to a single HALion Sonic instance.
Now, when I mute one track, the entire HALion Sonic instance is muted instead.
I’m working on macOS and using VST Live 2.2.97.
Is this a change in behavior due to a recent update, or am I missing some setting or routing option?
Thanks in advance for any help.

After many tests, I finally understood that the mute affects the audio part.
So, if I insert a track that has HALion Sonic layers, its audio goes mute.
I have to unmute the audio channel, and then everything plays, except the MIDI track, which remains muted.
Is this normal, or is it a bug?

If possible, I’d appreciate a gentle feedback when you have time. Thank you.

It shouldn’t do that… but I can confirm it does.
@Spork ?

Thank you, I really appreciate it.

Can we have a fix in the next release?

Tanks

I have repeatedly asked for help in finding a solution or a fix to an annoying problem that I described several days ago.
Could you please assist me in any way? Thank you.

Hi!Perhaps you have a global mute button that is located in the upper right side of the screen. The second reason could be incorrect routing from the plugin or in the mixer. Attach screenshots. Let’s try to figure it out.

It’s not a global mute problem. I’ve tried everything, but I think it’s a bug. Have you tried it? Does it work for you? I try attach a video next days

I confirm. It works as you described, and the only way to do it now is to create a separate layer for each MIDI track. It won’t take up significantly more memory if that’s what you’re worried about.

@Spork, I wrote in beta forum this January 7 about “Mute/Unmute bug - unfriendly buttons [3.0.13]” - it seems that this mute bug is part of the same I described with steps to reproduce.

… it has been fixed. Please re-check with the next Release.

Thank you for your Patience,
Michael.

Big Spork !

Huge thanks for the update and for tracking down the issue! :folded_hands:
Can’t wait to try out the fix in the next release. Really appreciate all the hard work and patience from you and the team!
