Hello! I use the BBC Discover Orchestra and the Halion Instruments for a project I’m working on. It is for wind ensemble, so there are 24 instruments. Every time I open a session, the mapping of all the VST’s instruments pop up and I need to minimize them manually. The issue is that it seems to be sucking a lot of battery and usage of my laptop and makes it run a little slower. Is there a way to not have the VST’s to pop up but still be in use in my session?

Normally Dorico stores the state of the plug-ins in it’s project data. Among many other data this also concerns the position and visible state of plug-in windows.
So please load your project, close all plug-in editor windows and save the project. Then close the project and reopen it via the hub window, the plug-in windows should not appear any more.
There’s also a preference, found on the VST Plug-ins page of Preferences, allowing you to specify that VST plug-in windows should not be shown by default.
