Waiting for C6.5.5 update.

I agree!

I would like the spectral analyser in every channel and pregain, Highcut lowcut. Also chordtrack and asio guard into Cubase 6.5.5 ( I could pay desame money as C7 upgrade! Then I am satisfied. My project are seldom more than 15 tracks. I dont need super flexibel mixer. My lenovo compact dualcore 3.0 still performs really well och C6.

Steinberg never shapes a product to perfection. Look at the Steinberg history and you’ll notice they had some great products with even greater potential, but they tend to move to fast for real in depth refinement or development.
Best recent example is Halion 4. Introduced with a lot of bells and whistles, and at this point the refinement and development are stalled completely, while there is so much work still to be done to make it competitive to other products, despite its great potential.
A classic Steinberg case!

Sure you do!

1-Release C6.5.5 and get some user thanks and some user grief.(‘it’s still not right’)

2-Realse C7 and get some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and some user grief. (‘it’s still not right’)

And the beat goes on…

{‘-’}

Customer trust and revenues on a new product would be higher if existing customers are sure the software development isn’t terminated before all flaws are properly ironed out.
Indeed, the beat goes on! Question is: How many people will stay on the dance floor when the drummer messes up?

Depends if its a waltz or a fox trot lol

It’s a slow Polka.

I guess that says it all.

I have a hate and love relationship with Cubase and Steinberg. I love the potential and features, but I never get for my money a good performance (no lag) and stable software release that I can rely on. And with every new release I´m getting more and more tired of this “merry go round”. :imp:

Too old and too in love with C6 to change. So, back to topic. When can we have our update, please moderators?

Can someone from Steinberg give some response to this?

The silence on this is deafening!

Ive been trying out the demo of cubase 7 and yes there is a good look to the mixer side of the upgrade but the chord track I have to say is absolutely pointless-have we all got to the point where we cant put our fingers on a keyboard to form a chord? If feels like something that would be good for Garageband!

Waiting for 6+ months for the 2nd supported update is insane. People who paid for the .5 release only received one supported update (6.5.3). Guess customer relations isn’t high priority at Steinberg.
Maybe Yamaha should sell their shares in Steinberg to Behringer. That one fits the cheap products, low service philosophy a lot better.

My 6.5.3 runs perfectly smooth, no problems whatsoever. What exactly is the problem with yours?

I wonder why you checked out this topic if it all works out for you?

But to answer your question, apart from some cosmetic flaws in the inspector (EQ curve & MIDI sends), I list a few:

Automation isn’t exported correctly (no ASIO delay compensation).
Pitch artifact on starting of parts with elastique pro.
Glue tool is in-consequent when working on multiple parts on seperate tracks.
PLE’s track operation’s don’t work as expected on instrument tracks.
etc…

Because I’m also waiting for the 6.5.5 update since we’re told it’s coming. And since I have no direct interest in C7 I’d like to be at the final version of 6.5. Apart from that, we’re all free to respond to any topic, and I’m no fan of unfounded Steinberg bashing - certainly not when they commit to releasing a final version of software they have already followed up. Not exactly common practice in the software business.

A forum user with a website from the stone age and a soundcloud with 10 followers is telling me what is common practice in the software product business.
Brilliant!

Glad you didn’t really get a picture of who I am. I’m not interested in impressing anonymous internet personas with an attitude who’ve just come looking. In real life, my ‘followers’ are clients and that’s what counts. 'Nuff said in this topic, you’re wasting my time.

Guys…

I would note here that on the C7 site Steinberg posted saying that they were going to fix Variaudio in 7.0.4. I could wait for this if it’s going to be in 6.5.5.

I love this forum ,so many pretentious attitudes thinking they are be “be’s” and “e’s” when in the real world they are nothing but a Mino in a major ocean .
I should think Steinberg will release the final update when they feel ready to do so ,but as long as we all waiting the more we feel it’s not going to happen …come on Helge prove us wrong

Change ‘my’ for ‘Steinberg’s’ and ‘followers’ for ‘forum users’ and read it again.

I can’t waste your time, you are doing that yourself.

Let’s hope for the public C7 beta-testers Steinberg doesn’t release C7.5 before 7.0.4.
